Living in the convent or in the parish building makes one live a superficial life. Everyone helps the 'father'. The father does not have to wash his clothes or do ironing, he doesn't have to pay for his pizza......He is very well protected and having a sustainable comfort zone!
Going into the world makes the priest register for work! He is for the first time unemployed. He has to look for opportunities. Nobody will guarantee anything....even to have enough money to buy for food........No securities. He is living a normal life for the first time. No comfort zones.
